FSDA has delivered 115 Treasure Boxes to the Shriners Hospital during the 2007 year.THANK YOU to all who have given of your talents and time to paint appealing boxes for the patients in which to keep their small toys. The Staff Members at the Shriners Hospital are very appreciative of the gift boxes. They are so gracious when we come to visit. Our Chapter has also painted and delivered 33 Memory Boxes to Saint Joseph’s Hospital this year. The Volunteer Coordinator there commented that the boxes from FSDA were the nicest boxes that they have received.
Another big THANK YOU! to the FSDA members who have donated to Treasure Boxes.

The object of the program is to create hand painted “treasure boxes” for youth less than 18 years old who are receiving care at Shriners Hospitals for Children. These young patients are often given small gifts to divert their attention from their pain. Treasure Boxes are containers the youngsters can use to store their toys and take them home.

This caring endeavor was created in early 2006 by “Ladybug” Jan McCraw. The SDP board approved Treasure Boxes for Kids as an official SDP program in March 2006. Visit Ladybug's website http://ladybugcreations.com  for free patterns and ideas for Treasure Boxes.
